Around Colour
Hues Hair is an intimate studio hosting creative individuals with extensive knowledge in the hair industry. Launched by Jamie Hughes in 2016 — after eleven years refining his craft — the studio was built with a singular vision: a space where every detail speaks the language of colour.
The room was designed by Melbourne architect Adriana Hana around the idea of colour-blocking: emerald-green painted floors, cream and blush walls, a rounded peach archway, a row of Gothic pointed-arch alcoves, a lilac abstract panel, mid-century sculptural chairs and potted palms. It is so distinctive it was photographed for the design press. The colour house is O&M (Original Mineral) — an Australian brand that removes harsh chemicals wherever possible, replacing them with natural extracts and active minerals that deliver real benefits.
